One of the Best I’ve Ever Seen!!!!!! This is an Unusually LARGE ANTIQUE 1930 s QUILT TOP Texas Star Pattern Purchased at a Private Family Estate Auction in Liberty, Missouri This Geometrically Perfect Antique Quilt Top is a Magnificent example of Patchwork Piecing of the 1930 s. INTRICATELY HAND STITCHED throughout the centre medallion. PATTERN - The Quilt Top is the Standard TEXAS STAR /SUNBURST Pattern. The Fabrics have been laid out in a regular repeat pattern across the quilt, with a Bubblegum Pink and Deep Blue throughout. (See Barbara Brackman s Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns, Whole Top Designs Chapter, page 491 – 492.) OVERALL SIZE - 95 x 76 /241 x 193 cm This is QUITE LARGE (Explains why my photos don t include the whole top!) FABRIC - There are only 2 Cotton Fabrics used in this quilt both are 100% Cotton and very typical of the 1930 s era. CONDITION – ABSOLUTLEY EXCELLENT! The Fabrics have no ageing or mothball smell at all. The 2 Colours are still true (and absolutely gorgeous!!!). The Quilt Top lays out well in the original shape. All HAND STITCHING is in perfect condition. All Machine Stitching on the side pieces is AS NEW. This quilt Top presents as if BRAND NEW. It is virtually perfect, especially considering it’s age! This is a Beautifully Stunning Quilt Top which will be a Treasured Find for the Vintage quilt lover. The colours used are Wonderful!!!! The higher price reflects the stunning quality of this top. ...
